MagicAIl Table

To let your AI play at the table, MCP has to be set up once — no matter whether you use Claude, ChatGPT or another AI.

No extra costs: your AI plays within your normal plan and simply uses the tokens of your plan's usage, as always.

Your private MCP address to connect:

Keep this address to yourself — anyone who has it can join or interrupt your table.

This is a local address. Your AI connects from its provider's cloud, so it can't reach localhost. Start a tunnel and set PUBLIC_URL when starting the server.

Set up for Claude (recommended)

In Claude, open Customize → Connectors. Web version: open “Add custom connector” directly (then continue with step 3).
Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
Name it MagicAIl Table, paste the MCP address from above and click Continue.
Under Authentication, choose No sign in and click Add. Then click Connect.
Open the connector's tool permissions and set both groups — read-only tools and write/delete tools — to Always allow.

Team or Enterprise plan: an owner adds the connector under Organization settings → Connectors, then you click Connect. On the Free plan you can add one custom connector.

Set up for ChatGPT

Works on chatgpt.com in the browser or in the desktop app.

On chatgpt.com, open Settings → Plugins (under Integrations) and click Browse catalog at the top right. Web version: open “Plugins” directly (then continue with step 2).
On the Plugins page, click “Add” at the top right (easy to miss) → Add custom MCP server.
Name it MagicAIl Table and paste the address from above as the Server URL. Under authentication choose No authentication. At the bottom, tick I understand and want to continue, click Create as a plugin and install it.
Back in Settings → Plugins, set MagicAIl Table to Allow all tools. Otherwise ChatGPT asks you to approve the AI's moves during the game. The tools only change the state of this table.

Connection test

Start your AI's free voice mode (live conversation, not dictation) and just talk. As soon as the AI answers through the connector, the light turns green.

Say something like: “Connect to the Magical Table.”

Deck size Budget

Deck size = number of cards in Sir Mulligan's deck, lands included. Budget = total card value of Sir Mulligan's deck; basic lands don't count. Prices from Scryfall (Cardmarket EUR).

Import Deck = give Sir Mulligan a ready-made deck instead (paste a list or upload a file, e.g. from ManaBox). Edition, deck size and budget don't apply then.

The cards are not part of it: card names, texts and images belong to Wizards of the Coast. Runs on your own computer: start the server yourself with start-mac.sh (Mac), start-linux.sh (Linux) or start-pc.bat (Windows) — the table, your games and saves stay with you. AIs from the cloud reach it through a tunnel; an AI on the same computer (e.g. Claude Code) connects directly via localhost.
